Springtime...
This morning I decided to take a few extra minutes from my morning routine and head out for a run. This weekend I run a 10K in a local community but I didn't want that to be my only workout this weekend.
It was great to be out there! It felt like my own personal "Opening Day" on a morning run.
Last Winter I had purchased a number of cold weather/snow/ice running items so that I could be sure to get in at least one outdoor run every week. This Winter, however, it was downright dangerous to be out there. The snow piles were so high and the sidewalks unable to be declared safe for a runner. I had to stick to the treadmill (ugh).
Now don't get me wrong, I have been outside running, but only regularly over the past month and mostly on weekends; maybe an evening that I could sneak one it.
Nothing quite compares to a morning run. Watching the sun rise over the pond in my neighborhood and witnessing all of the sights and sounds of people starting their day - all the while knowing that I am doing something really good for myself.
Yeah, I'll be doing that more often :)
