Took my lunchtime run out to the streets today - explored a little bit of my neighborhood at work...don't often have a chance to do that. I am usually on and off the highway and running to and from work. It was nice to get outside and just run...

Hope you all enjoyed today - I put in an order for more just like this.

My story...because it is kinda important......

Before we start to talk about the 'now'....I find it important to just review a little bit of where I came from. In November, 2006, I was 5'1 and just shy of 250lbs.  So I ran the Boston Marathon... wow On Monday, April 18th I ran the 2022 Boston Marathon . What an AMAZING experience that I will never forget.  While I am still putting my thoughts together around the day and journey, I thought I'd try to write a bit to capture some things while they are still fresh in my head.  First of all, for those interested  - I received my bib to run the Boston Marathon through my running club - the Greater Lowell Road Runners . When I was twenty four, I lost my husband to colon cancer when I was five months pregnant with my daughter Abbey. For years I had watched those around me in my community as well as in high school have babies (some younger than I). As I grew up and reached adulthood, I felt great pride in the fact that I had waited until I was married with a stable foundation before I had thoughts of starting a family. Then he died. And I was ultimately left a single parent. All of the planning and working toward this dream changed. I was no longer going to be able to take that nice little 'part time job to keep my mind busy' as we had planned.
